The original interior Porsche door handles are rather lame plastic pieces. They look particularly bad after 15+ years. Since I already had the teak steering wheel, at the suggestion of my friend Jay, I upgraded the handles.
That's a Dino steering wheel which the previous owner installed. I think it adds a nice classy touch without going overboard, especially with my new door handles! :)

I used contact cement to mount this 1/8 inch piece of teak on the original plastic door handle. This shouldn't need to be too strong since it is backed by the original handle. It actually makes the handle feel a lot sturdier since the plastic would flex when you pulled it. I must have put at least 5 coats of high gloss polyurethane on that baby.

This handle has seen its better days. I can't imagine that they looked very good new though either. I have tried my magic rubber/vinyl restoring products on it, but it just doesn't clean up very well anymore. Despite the little glow in the dark sticker, no one seems to be able to find the handle!
